Network marketing is by far one the most incredible fortune building tools around. That being the case why is it that so many people quit before they ever get really started? Now I know why I've quit opportunities in the past. I quit them even though I was incredibly excited about them and had even acheived an initial level of success. The reason I quit was because I always seemed to hit a wall. An obstacle I could not get over. That wall was cold calling, talking to strangers. It was like the Great Wall of China as far as I was concerned. I couldn't get over it and I thought there was no way around it. Thank goodness I was wrong on both counts, because technology, innovation, and imagination tore down my wall and they can tear down yours too.

The secret to growing your network marketing business without ever having to cold call anyone is really no secret at all. It is the internet, and the internet has changed the way network marketing is done... period.

The days of having to assault your friends and family with your "new deal" and explaining how it beats your old deal are over. You never have to worry about hitting that wall of cold calling strangers, quitting, and then looking for the next "deal" anymore.

There are tried and true techniques that internet marketers have been using for years that when combined with the power of network marketing can keep you from ever again having to cold call leads. You simply put out the bait, they bite, and through the tools readily available online you can stay in contact with your lead until they either join up or quit requesting information. You never have to call them through the whole process until they sign up. By then a relationship of trust has been established, and if they've signed up already they want to hear from you! That's not exactly a cold call now is it?

Some of these tools cost money and some do not. None of them are truly free though because what you don't pay for in money you pay for in time. Do not forget that.

The "free" ones as you would expect take more time to deliver the desired results (TRAFFIC), than the ones that you pay cash for. PPC advertising can start to generate traffic to your lead capture page in as little as ten minutes from the time you set it up while article marketing and forum marketing will take some time to start generating leads for you.

You need to use a combination of all these techniques and continually remind yourself that you're in it for the long haul. Also keep reminding yourself that you never have to make another cold call to a lead ever again You can't beat that!

Jack Canfield’s Success Principles

I’ve learned about the success principles from Jack Canfield. In his book “The Success Principles”, Jack Canfield presents the sixty-four principles which, if learned and practiced, can help everyone to realize their goals. The principles that he teaches are timeless. He did not invent them, but collected them from many successful people. He has learned and practiced them himself, and has presented them in his excellent book. He was able to present the great knowledge in a clear and easy to understand way.
I’ve chosen and briefly described the ten principles from Canfield’s book which I think are most important.

1) Take100% Responsibility for Your Life

The first principle states that there is only one person who is 100% responsible for my life-it is me.
This is the first principle of success. If we want to be successful in life, we first have to take total responsibility for our lives. We’re responsible for all our successes and failures, health, relationships, financial situation, our feelings and everything else.
It is me who has created the life I am living now so I must take full responsibility for it. If I don’t take full responsibility, I can’t achieve things which are important to me and I can’t re-make my life.
To really take 100% responsibility for our lives, we must stop blaming others for our problems and failures. We have created our current situations by our thoughts and activities so there is no reason to blame anybody. We can blame only ourselves, but that is also useless because the past is the past; we can’t change it. But now we can create our future. We have always had the power to do it, but for different reasons we haven’t. Now we can do things differently and get the results we want. This is because of the rule: E+R=0(Event +Response=Outcome). The rule says that every outcome we experience in life (good or bad) is the result of how we responded to the previous events in our lives.
We can see that in the same situations people react differently. Some are successful, some are not. We can see that, by responding in a different way, we can get different results. That is why blaming events for our failures are pointless. We must change our responses to the events and then we can get the results we want. We don’t have control over a lot of the events in our lives, but we have control over our responses. We can change our thinking, our behavior, and our communication. We can also change our old habits into the new, better ones.
Jack Canfield states that “Everything you experience in life – both internally and externally – is the result of how you have responded to a previous event”. Everything I experience today is the result of the choices I have made in the past. I have control over three things in my life: my thoughts, my visualizations and my actions. So to change my life I need to change my thoughts, my visualizations and my actions to positive ones. If I keep my negative responses from the past I will keep getting the same negative results, so now is the time to stop complaining and blaming others for my bad results and take full responsibility for my life.
This principle is the prerequisite to a successful life. It is the basic principle. I personally started with this principle because without this principle I wouldn’t be able to implement the other principles.

2) Principle Believe it’s Possible
According to this principle, we are able to achieve whatever our minds can conceive and believe. Jack Canfield explains why our brains work this way and gives some examples but the important conclusion for us is that we must replace all our negative expectations with positive ones, and then our minds will start working to accomplish the outcome we want.
People often do not reach their goals, not because they lack required skills, but because they don’t believe they can reach them.

3) Believe In Yourself

This principle is connected with the previous one. I am able to achieve whatever my mind can conceive and believe, so I must believe in myself. If I want to create the great and successful life I desire, I must believe that I can make it happen. I have to believe that I have all the abilities, skills and inner resources to do it.
I need to choose to believe that I can achieve whatever I set my mind on. If I think that something is impossible to achieve, I will not do everything necessary to achieve it. If I believe that it is possible for me to achieve something, I will do everything necessary to achieve it.
To be successful I need to give up “I can’t”. My brain is able to solve any problems I give it and reach any goals I have, but my negative words and thoughts have a negative and limiting influence on my mind, so I give up all my negative thoughts and words.
Jack Canfield gives some examples which prove that belief in you is more important than knowledge, training or schooling. Quite a few very successful people dropped out of college.

4) Release the Brakes
According to this principle, most people drive through life with their psychological brakes on. The brakes are negative images about themselves, inaccurate beliefs about reality, guilt and self-doubt.
These brakes cancel out people’s good intentions, no matter how hard they try.

All our unfounded beliefs are like prison. They don’t allow us to go out and reach our goals, so first we must get out of our self-imposed prisons. The author presents three methods for doing it. They are: a) affirmations and positive self-talk b) creating powerful and compelling new internal images of having, doing and creating what we want c) changing our behavior.

5) See What You Want, Get What You See
This principle is about visualization. Visualization is the act of creating compelling and vivid pictures in your mind.
Jack Canfield gives a scientific explanation for why visualization works. What is important for me: “Visualization simply makes the brain achieve more”. When I visualize my goals in my mind as already achieved, my subconscious mind will work to turn my visualizations into reality.
The author explains the process of visualization and gives a few examples to prove that visualization works. The process is quite simple. I need to close my eyes and see my goals as already achieved. To make the process more powerful I should add sounds, feelings and emotions to my pictures.
The emotions are the most important ingredient of visualization. We must enjoy the visualization. It can’t be a chore. Doing visualizations properly we feel happy doing it, and we are creating happy future.

6) Take Action
Many people spend time analyzing, planning and organizing but they fail to take action. Successful people also do these things, but they always take action. They are very eager to take action.
When I take action things start happen. I have observed that I learn much more quickly while I am in action. Things become clear. The next steps become obvious.
The point is: “To be successful, you have to do what successful people do, and successful people are highly action-oriented”.
There is no point in being too cautious, because even if I make some mistakes I can learn from them, and can still achieve my goals. If I do not take action because I am too careful or afraid, I will not reach my goals anyway. Taking action brings satisfaction, too.

7) Commit to Constant and Never-Ending Improvement
This principle says that if I want to be successful, I must always try to do things better. I must always try to improve, so I need to look at my goals, and I need to find out what I need to improve to achieve them better and faster.
Canfield advises making small, achievable steps which we can easily improve. In this way we will not become overwhelmed and discouraged because something seems too difficult to achieve or do.
To improve takes time. It does not happen overnight, but if I improve and learn a little bit every day, one day my skills and knowledge will be very useful in my life.

8) Practice Persistence

Persistence is one of the most important qualities of successful people. There are always a lot of obstacles in life, so without persistence it is impossible to achieve much.
People often quit just before reaching their goals, because they lack persistence. But “If you hang in there long enough, you will eventually reach your goal.”

9) Learn More to Earn More
This principle is about learning. The more I learn and the more knowledge I acquire, the more successful I can be.
Canfield recommends reducing the time I spend on watching television and using this time for reading. He suggests reading inspirational books, books on psychology, finance, sales, health etc. He also recommends reading biographies of great people.
Another way to learn is to attend success rallies, conferences and retreats. To learn from other people I must be teachable. That means that when I have the opportunity to listen or learn something from people who know more than I do, I should listen and try to learn from them and not try to impress them. Some humility is required.

10) Start Now! ... Just Do It!
According to this principle, “There is no perfect time to start” so let me start now. As Canfield says, “Once you start moving and producing results, all manner of things begin to happen that will take you further and faster than you ever imagined”.

The Top 10 Myths Keeping You From Hitting the Online Jackpot

I'm now in my 11th year of doing business online. This week, I discovered a shocking statistic: Since starting my business, I have answered more than 100,000 e-mails! I answer all my e-mail personally. So if anyone in the online business arena has a grasp on what's keeping people from success, that person is me.
Without a doubt, one or more of the following online business myths reside in nearly every potential businessperson's head. And these myths could be keeping you from earning your slice of the Internet cash pie.
Here are the myths... exposed and shattered.

Myth #1: I'm not smart enough to have my own business.
Perhaps. But doubtful. True, online business is NOT for everyone. But I feel that it is doable for almost anyone, including 99 percent of the people that follow the Advance Internet Marketing Success Guide (See below). If you have a desire to learn, you can grow an income stream from the Web. You just have to do it the right way - and that means you cannot chase business opportunity after business opportunity. You have to build something of your own. Something of value. Something that will help other people. That's the seed that can blossom into profits via affiliate programs, your own products or services, advertising revenue, and many other income streams.

Myth #2: I don't have the time it takes to start or grow an income source online.
Working for "the man" can eat up quite a bit of your time. Add in a significant other, maybe a family, a commute... and what do you have left? For people working 80+ hours a week to make ends meet, starting a business may be (nearly) impossible. But for most folks working full-time jobs, it is possible.
Ten years ago, I worked 40-50 hours a week, plus I had a two-hour-a-day commute. I had a significant other and a baby on the way. But I found a couple of hours a night to get an online business started. I used my commute time to record ideas onto a small cassette recorder. I brainstormed during idle times in the day. If you want something bad enough, there is almost always enough time to make it happen.

Myth #3: I don't have the money it takes for a new business.
That's doubtful. The cost of an online business really can be dirt-cheap. Ten years ago, it was far more expensive to start a business online than it is today. Website design no longer costs thousands of dollars. In fact, you can do it for less than $50 if you are willing to do the work yourself. Even if you have to hire someone, you can get a pre-designed website template modified for a few hundred bucks. There are also monthly services available, for the cost of dinner out, that handle all your needs, including Web hosting, growing an opt-in list, following up with prospects, accepting orders, and even starting an affiliate program. None of these services were available 10 years ago. Now they are cheap and more effective than ever.

Myth #4: I'm not an expert at anything.
You don't have to be. I decided I wanted to start a business on the Internet, and started researching every aspect of it. Before I knew it, I knew more about the subject than everyone I knew. When people started asking me questions, it dawned on me that I was now an "expert" on Internet business. So I decided to help more people by writing a book about it.
The point is, you can become an expert in almost any topic that interests you. There's a world of information on the World Wide Web, and it is all at your fingertips.

Myth #5: I have nothing to sell.
You don't need to have anything to sell right away. You can start by promoting existing products and services in the niche you choose. Chances are, you will not be the first person entering that niche. And chances are, there are already products or services for sale in that arena. You can promote those existing products or services on a commission basis, via merchants' affiliate programs. And while you're doing that, you can be developing something of your own to sell.

Myth #6: Someone is already doing what I want to do, so it is useless to compete.
This is one of the worst excuses, yet one of the most common I hear. Many people think that if an idea is already being implemented online, they "missed the boat." What they fail to realize is that if their idea is being done, it may very well be a successful idea and worth pursuing.
Remember, there are hundreds - and sometimes thousands - of sites selling similar things on the Web. Heck, if I had that "it's useless to compete" attitude 10 years ago, I would still be working for the man.

Myth #7: The only people making money online are people telling others how to make money.
Another excuse I hear a lot - usually from someone too lazy to ever succeed. Sure, there are a lot of so-called Web business gurus offering advice on how to make money online. But in the grand scheme of things, these businesses comprise far less than one percent of all businesses online. Your online business is what you want it to be. If you want to be an online business guru, okay. Do your research and join the fray. But only do it if that is what you truly want to do - not because it looks like the only way.

Myth #8: I've tried plenty of online business opportunities with no success. It's just not for me.
Maybe it's not. But chances are, your failure is from chasing different business opportunities instead of building your own business from the ground up. That includes setting up a website of your own, growing your own opt-in list, communicating with and helping people, networking with other businesses in your niche, and making it happen!

Myth #9: I'd need a top search engine ranking to get anywhere... and that's almost impossible.
I'll agree that it may be almost impossible to get a top search engine ranking in some niches. But the fact is, you do not need a top search engine ranking in order to succeed on the Web. I'll say it right now, in writing, that a top search engine ranking can be grossly overrated. In fact, I have a site that has a top ranking in a hotly contested market, with the top keywords. How much traffic do you think that top ranking brings the site each month? 10,000 visitors? 5,000 visitors? Try 300.
Yes, search engine ranking, like all marketing strategies (online and off) does not stand up well on its own. Effective marketing is all about using multiple strategies - and many strategies work far better than search engine positioning.

Myth #10: I'd need a big advertising budget to get any results.
Wrong. The Web is a perfect medium for implementing grassroots strategies. A few that I've used with great success include joint venturing, networking, opt-in marketing with e-mail newsletters (with an e-mail follow-up series), and commission-only marketing with eBay and affiliate programs, ad co-ops, and more. These strategies are dirt-cheap and amazingly effective.
Before the Web, you could get away with the argument that a big advertising budget was needed to grow a business. The Web changed that long ago, and it continues to be true today.

There you have it. The top 10 myths about starting a Web business that are keeping literally millions of people stuck in that J-O-B (Just Over Broke). If you're not on your way to generating profits online, you may find that you believe one of those myths. Don't fall for it. Don't let it keep you from one of the best opportunities in centuries - an online business of your own.

Alright so what is the one key you came here to learn about? This simple key is called posture. So is this just sitting up in your chair? Well that has a little bit to do with it.

What posture really means is how you come across on the phone. Having posture is basically having control. You are in control of the conversation at all times. And how do you keep control of the conversation you ask?

Well it's really simple; the one who is asking the questions is the one in control. Think of it like a movie where a guy is getting interrogated by the cops. Who is in control? Well definitely the cops because they are asking the questions, while the innocent man is basically being dominated.

Posture may be more difficult for some because you have to truly believe that you are a leader. That you will be successful without the person on the other end of the phone. This doesn't mean that you should be rude! There is a very important line between confidence and being rude.

Posture is knowing that the person on the other end has to qualify for YOUR time not the other way around, very important. I don't care if this person is a CEO of some fortune 500 company, (s)he still has to qualify for your time.

Here is a quick example of a first call with posture.

Prospect Joe: So is this another one of those MLMs or something?

You: Well Joe that is a great question but right now isn't the time for it. This is simply an interview and I'm qualifying you for my time. So we can keep going with the interview or just end it right now. Which would you prefer?

If they are a serious prospect they will say, sorry go ahead.

Now what happened there is that I kept the control of the call on my side. This is vitally important for two reasons. One is that it puts you into a position of a leader, you are serious and you mean business. People follow leaders, end of story.

Second, it also positions you as the expert on the topic. People always seek out experts in their fields. Why do people go to doctors when they're sick?

People don't join your business because of your product or comp plan. They join YOU and they join because they feel YOU can lead them to their goals.

Here are some ideas to get you in the right posture.

For one, stand when you're on the phone. This instantly changes your attitude. Another would be to put on some nice clothes and shoes while prospecting. You would be amazed at what this really does for your confidence.

Next, talk a little faster and a little louder. This doesn't mean scream into the headset, just a little louder than normal.

As soon as the call starts you are taking away from the prospect. This basically just means that you are trying to find a reason not to sponsor them! This sounds a little weird, but in the end it will pay dividends.

These are a few tips to get you into the right mindset, but you will determine your own success.
