How to get a million hits or more in 1 month or less

http://www.profitingforward.com

Online leads are often times very difficult to get to your site. You know that if surfers visited your site, you would have a good chance of converting that visit into a sale. The problem is attracting them there in the first place.

It's essential to understand what your prospect is looking for. Ask some key questions to get started. What is it that they are typing into the search engines? What links are they clicking on when they are at other sites? How will this lead them to your site? And then place what they are looking for, where they are looking for it. Now that may seem complicated, but hear me out. There are five main ways used by online marketers and SEO's (both of the "White Hat" and "Black Hat" schools) to drive huge amounts of traffic.

1/ Build a small network, or mini-web of specific sites, each targeting a specific niche/product/service. Interlink your sites. Keep all links to external sites to affiliate sites only, so that you will gain commissions on all sales. Host your own affiliate site if your opportunity has one, or open-source templates with your own content. If you need content, you can get it from an RSS feed. It is easily added with a cut and paste php script that you add to your html code. (Search engines will index php based RSS content on your site, but not Javascript). You will also need an RSS parser on your server, like Carp.

2/ Make sure you have a blog specifically set up for your opportunity. Write product reviews there in a friendly manner. Make sure that you link to all your other sites and specific categories. If you don't have a blog, try Blogger or better still, Wordpress. Ideally, set up several blogs, one for each niche, adding some RSS again to give you more content while you focus on building your mini-web.

3/ Use a blog and ping application to get your blogs indexed in the search engines extra fast. Doing this will help get all your other pages indexed too (because the search engine spiders follows links.)

4/ Get as many back-links as possible to all of your sites by participating in forums with high Google Page-Rank. Join in the discussions but wait until you have been there for at least 10 posts before posting a link. Otherwise you will be seen as a link spammer.

5/ Join the Yahoo Groups for your particular product/service. It allows you to post information on your opportunity to like-minded people. You can leave your links there and also email those in the group to give your site maximum exposure.

The above techniques are tried and tested by the best marketers on the net but are not often admitted. However, in order to get them to work to your full advantage, massive consistent action must be taken. The best of intentions are of no use if they remain only a dream.

Increase Your Chances of Getting Your Articles Published by Following These Simple Guidelines

Getting your articles published in most cases is an easy task. Most importantly, no matter which directory you choose to submit your article, you must follow their submission rules. These rules are a little different for each directory and by not abiding by them, your article will not be published or in publishing terms “binned” (in their trash can).

Your first step is to write the best possible article that you can, with a great title that will generate interest for the reader and the publisher. Your headline will be the attention getter, so make it work.

Don’t be wordy; keep your article short and to the point. Long text that runs unbroken is visually unappealing. It will make the reader think it will be hard to get through. In the bustling world of today, people want instant gratification. They want to be able to scan through the information quickly and understand it thoroughly.

Make it easy on the publisher and tell them they have the right to use your article freely. The less work they have to do, the more they will respect your efforts. Some publishers prefer plan text with hard wrapped 60-65 characters per line. Be sensitive to the publisher’s requests.

Never shamelessly promote your product. If you want to sell your product, explain your knowledge, your character and your innovative thinking. Your goal is to solve a problem or fill a need by educating the people on how you can help them. Sometimes just telling a story will get your point across. Try to be subtle! Everyone hates to be sold and if you are too blatant, you will turn people off. You want to project your expertise.

Only at the end of the article do you include a few sentences about you in your resource box or “About the Author”. This is where you have a short biography about yourself and your expertise. List your website(s) and hyperlink them so it is easy for the reader to get to them. Just before the resource box, I write that: “Everyone is free to use the article as long as the article is published intact and the resource box remains.” See my example below.

Run a spell check on your articles then read it out loud to someone else in order to check for grammatical errors. Nothing says unprofessional better than sloppy spelling and incorrect grammar. Be careful with words that sound alike but have different meanings. The most troublesome are “their” and “there” or “your” and “you’re”. Make sure you use them in the right context. Remember, an apostrophe indicates possession. For example, Mary’s dress is extraodinary.

Here are a few of the FREE article directories that have a page rank of 4 or more that you can submit your articles to (always submit to article directories with the highest page rank first):

www.amazines.com
www.articlealley.com
www.articlecity.com
www.articlehub.com
www.articlemarketer.com
www.buzzle.com
www.ezinearticles.com
www.fastarticlesubmit.com
www.goarticles.com
www.ideamarketers.com
www.isnare.com

The above article directories will just get you started. Go to the search engines and type in “article directories” and you will find many more. Article writing with meaningful content is an important tool to drive traffic to your website and should not be overlooked. Publishers are always looking for fresh content and your articles may be just what they need.

5 Ways to Create Content to Drive Traffic to Your Site

http://www.profitingforward.com

There are many ways to promote your business online. The difference between online marketing and offline marketing though is profound.

Although advertising can be very effective offline, it isn't nearly so effective online. The reason why is that most people surf the internet looking for information. They aren't usually interested in advertising unless the product or service in question can solve their problems.

There are five strategies that you can implement in your business that will not only create a content strategy for you but will also create a very effective marketing strategy. This strategy will only require a few hours of your time each week.

1. Articles
For those who have read my work, you know that articles not only brand you as an expert but are also a way to create quality content for your site, and search engines love content.

If you don't like writing, or don't write, you can find quality articles to post on your site. The larger your site, the more likely you will be found in the search engines.

Here are a few article directories you can use:

http://www.ezinearticles.com
http://www.isnare.com
http://www.goarticles.com
http://www.articlemarketer.com

2. Blogs/RSS
Blogging is another way to create content for your website, and by using RSS, you can easily distribute your content.

Most don't understand what RSS really is, or how it can most effectively be used to drive traffic to their sites.

Basically, RSS is a form of code that's very search engine friendly. With RSS feeds, which you can add to your website or blog, you can create content that updates itself. Because of this self updating, the search engines will spider your site more often, raising your rankings.

Once you've built your blog and added several entries, you need to "ping" it to get it listed. Here are two tools you can use:

http://www.pingoat.com
http://www.pingomatic.com

3. Press Releases
Press releases are news about your business. Press releases are also an excellent way to get high rankings for your site because you can create content rich press releases and submit them to press release directories. Many of these directories are high traffic.

Here are several sites that accept press releases:

http://www.press-world.com
http://www.free-press-release.com
http://www.prbase.com
http://www.click2newsites.com/
http://www.prweb.com

4. Search Engine Optimization

Optimizing your site for the search engines means creating keyword rich content, exchanging links with other sites, submitting your site to directories, which create backlinks pointing to your site.

You can use tools like Web CEO, http://www.webceo.com, to help you optimize your pages.

Although submitting the search engines is often unnecessary, since most search engines will spider through to your site from another site, you still need at least one link pointing back to your site so that your site gets spidered.

Submit your site to Alexa, http://www.alexa.com. Not only will this make sure that your site gets spidered, you'll be able to compare your site to other sites, as well as get statistics on traffic to your site.

5. Free Ebooks and Reports
By writing and giving away free ebooks and reports, you give visitors an incentive to visit your website.

You can also submit your ebooks and reports to ebook directories for free.

http://www.ebookdirectory.com
http://www.ebookpalace.com
http://www.ebookjungle.com/
http://www.ebooksnbytes.com/

If you make your ebook brandable, which means others can place their links inside your ebook, your ebook becomes viral. You give others an incentive to share your ebook and spread it across the internet.

Once you implement these content strategies on your site, add streams of revenue to your site like adsense and Virtual Portals. These sites will allow you to monetize your site.

http://www.google.com/ads/
http://www.virtual-portals.com

Although advertising, like pay per clicks, can be effective in promoting your website, it can quickly become expensive. By focusing on creating quality content for website, and then promoting that content, you can continue to drive traffic to your website for years to come.

Success by Design

Copyright© Omar Jackson

http://www.profitingforward.com

Your success in life just doesn't happen by accident its created by you designing your life either on a conscious level or an unconscious level. Your thoughts create your action....Your thoughts create your actions. Why do I say this because its true. I'm a strong believer in what ever you design your life to it will be. Their is this formula (Love formulas math was one my favorite subjects) Thoughts + Action=Outcome its such a simple formula but if you live your life by this simple formula there should not be any question with the result that you are producing. Yes what your thinking right now is formulating your universe as you're read this whether they are good thoughts or not.

First thing are your thoughts about success whether your pursuing academic, relationship, or financial success you have to believe that you can attain this success and that belief and faith will help drive you th achieve it. It all starts with your thoughts about yourself and what you think you can accomplish and what you can't.

Secondly you create a plan nothing happen without an organized plan of action, because if you can't take the time required to plan out how you are going to achieve your success, that is what steps are necessary to get from one place to the next. You'll be confused and jumping from one area to the next with understanding what is necessary step to get to your ultimate goal. Success is easy when you have a plan and stick to that plan, but its also easier to go astray when you don't. Life happens, family obligation, work, health, school and a whole host of other problems can come at you so fast it makes your head spin. But with a lead out plan and focus theirs nothing you can't overcome.

Thirdly you must take action because all the planning and thoughts of success will never be able to achieve success on its own without action. If you don't take action you can't achieve the success you desire......No matter how organized your plan is if your not taking nay action on it on a daily bases you will never achieve your goals.
Everyday you should ask yourself "what action did I take to day to achieve the success I desire" if you can't come up with any positive answers your day was a failure and as a result you're a failure. An individual with an inefficient plan will always accomplish more than the individual that has the most lade out efficient plan but never takes action. Action is the force that turns the key to unlock your success.

The Law of Attraction & Where People Fail

http://www.profitingforward.com

The movie The Secret has been creating ripples across the world. It features some of the world's greatest teachers, philosophers, entrepreneurs, scientists, doctors, authors and financial advisor's and presents the concept of the Law of Attraction in a manner that anyone and everyone can understand.

The trouble with The Secret, or rather I should say with people's comprehension of The Secret and the Law of Attraction, is that many people only half get it.

They think to themselves, "Oh! If I just wish for something then I'll receive it." If only life were that simple. Also, you know they just might get away with it if they decided what they wanted and held that image steadfastly in their mind.

However, people may say they want something but continually look at their current circumstances which do not support what they want. They worry about how they will actually achieve what they want. They doubt themselves and the Universe repeatedly and then, as time passes by, they become even more jaded in their thoughts and their thoughts become increasingly negative and self-defeating.

Genevieve Behrend in her book Your Invisible Power wrote,

"When your understanding grasps the power to visualise your heart's desires and holds it with your will, it attracts to you all things requisite to the fulfilment of that picture by the harmonious vibration of the Law of Attraction."

Thoughts become things. So the thoughts we have become manifest whether they be positive or negative. The Universe always delivers.

I like to explain this concept to my clients using a jigsaw puzzle. It's something I've stolen from Robert Allen though I've expanded it. Imagine you are given a jigsaw puzzle to put together. It could be a relatively simple puzzle with just a few hundred pieces or it could have thousands of pieces. The problem is you haven't been given an image of what the finished puzzle will look like. Could you complete the puzzle?

Take a second scenario where you have been given an image but it is incomplete or the image is faded and difficult to make out. How easy would it be to for you to complete the puzzle?

Take a third scenario where you are given an image for the puzzle but the image keeps changing. You look at it and one minute it represents this, then that. How easy would it be for you to complete the puzzle?

Obviously, the best conditions to complete the puzzle are where you have a clear, sharp, well-defined image. Unfortunately, it is the former scenarios that we often present to the Universe – no image, broken image or continually changing image and then we wonder why things don't turn out the way we say we want them to.

The key then is to create an image with as much clarity and detail as possible and hold onto to that image but this is not enough. Recall the second part of quote I mentioned by Genevieve Behrend, or as she expresses another way:

"The conscious use of this great power [visualisation] attracts to you multiplied resources, intensifies your wisdom, and enables you to make use of advantages which you formerly failed to recognise."

Some people think that visualisation alone will do the trick and get them the things they desire. No. It's like arranging a date with someone, agreeing to meet them at a particular rendezvous and then you stay at home.

The Universe will move towards you. You must respond by moving towards the Universe and taking advantage of the opportunities that the Universe brings to you in order to achieve that which you desire. Darn! Yes, you have to do some work.

I love this quote by Winston Churchill:

"During their lifetimes, every man and woman will stumble across a great opportunity. Sadly, most of them will simply pick themselves up, dust themselves down and carry on as if nothing ever happened"

And that is exactly what happens. The Universe will make available numerous opportunities to help us achieve our goals yet we often fail to recognize them or take full advantage of them. There's a saying "Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it." Having goals is important but more important it is what we become as we achieve a particular goal.

Of course there will be obstacles. That's the whole point of this game called life. Would you play any board game or computer game if there were no obstacles or rules to make the game more challenging? Of course not, that would be so boring. Why then do we expect the biggest and best game of all to be any different?

So dream, dream big and hold on fast to your dream. Embrace every challenge that comes your way; brush the fear of failure aside. You might not get what you want; you just might get something even better. As Joan Curcio puts it:

"Jump into the middle of things, get your hands dirty, fall flat on your face, and then reach for the stars."

Confidence Building Secrets of True Winners

Copyright© Omar Jackson

http://www.profitingforward.com

We all need some confidence building from time to time. Part of feeling confident has a lot to do with how we feel about ourselves. Feeling like we can accomplish things we set out to do is important to feeling confident.

Remember that we all have talents and gifts. Whether we feel confident in these skills is very much part of thinking like a winner. Here is an easy way you can train yourself to think like a winner.

Make yourself a ‘to do’ list. Before you start complaining that you’ve tried that already in the past and it didn’t work, let’s go over the rules for this list. This is a list to make you feel like a winner.

It is your job to help yourself to feel as much like a winner as possible by making a list that is fun and easy to get done. I mean super easy. Ridiculously easy, even.

Here’s a sample list:

1. Get out of bed.
2. Brush my teeth and comb my hair.
3. Get dressed.
4. Eat something.
5. Eat something else.
6. Walk to a car, bus or another room.
7. Smile.
8. Answer the phone. But only if it rings.
9. Put socks on...

Are you getting the idea? This isn’t your average ‘to do’ list. This is a sort of self-conditioning list. Seeing all those check marks or seeing everything crossed off your list will make you feel like you’ve had a productive day. You’ll gain confidence in your abilities to get things done.

If you practice this fun list making, you’ll come to think of yourself as a winner. If you forget to write the list one morning, write a ‘done’ list at the end of the day. Just list ‘got out of bed’, etc. and mark them off.

As silly as this confidence building list making may seem, bear in mind that the subconscious doesn’t care about what is real or imagined. All it will see is a list that has been checked off every day. Eventually, you’ll notice yourself feeling more confident. You can then start adding real tasks to your list and doing them with the same ‘feel good’ attitude you had when you made your practice lists.

Don’t add too many, to start. Camouflage the real items you want to accomplish with your stand-by easy ones. The reason you don’t want to do a complete shift in list writing is that feeling good is an important element of confidence building.

Just look at someone you know to be confident. Are they down in the mouth or smiling? Allow yourself the joy of having fun with life. You’ll feel like a winner!

Multiply your online Revenue with a Good Opt In Email List

http://www.profitingforward.com

Email advertising is one of the least expensive ad forms around these days. It has the potential to attract new clients on a worldwide scale and to skyrocket your profits in a way unimaginable just a few short years ago. However, as in any other form of advertising, careful planning in the early stage will result in the best return for your efforts.

Your best source of profitsstarts with a reliable list of clients who have a need or desire for your product. How successful you are at getting this list can make the difference between the success and failure of your ad campaign and, as a consequence, the success or failure of your business as a whole.

A higher level of response can be achieved by successful targeting of your market using reliable sources. Since more subscribers to your mailing list means the potential of higher profits for your business, you want to make sure that your list contains as many names as possible.

Where do you get a reliable email list that targets your specific market? Targeting the right market can be difficult so here are some tips to help you zero in on your best prospects.

Established Clientèle

1. If your business is already established, one of the best sources is your client list. Of course, many older client lists do not contain email contact information so the first objective is to update your client list. Simply send a promotional postcard with an offer that is only available on your web site. With a good incentive, the results of the mail out will be well worth the expense of postage.

2. Give your staff the tools they need to increase your customer base by training them to collect permissions and email addresses at the time of first contact, when completing a sale, and on re-contact with old clients. Have them pass on your web site address to new and old customers at every opportunity and, at the same time, encourage clients to sign up for special newsletters or discounts available only by email.

3. Make sure all contacts, new and old, get a handout or mail-out with your company web address where they can easily find your opt-in form.

4. Add your web site address to all information you send to your client base. In addition to newsletters, this includes monthly statements, new invoices and promotional fliers.

New Contact Sources

1. Network with owners of related businesses that attract a similar clientèle and offer to swap referrals. This has the potential to increase your opt-in database exponentially with very little effort on your part. The trick to make this work is to be generous and be sure to return the favor to your counterparts. Also, remember to send an initial introduction asking permission for future emails. Don't just add them to your list.

2. Establish reciprocal web site links with cooperating businesses in order to increase prime traffic to both sites while establishing higher recognition in the business community. Many businesses will be happy to post a link to your web page on their site in exchange for the same favor, especially if the business is in the same field but not a direct competitor.

3. Be sure to include your web site and opt in information at professional presentations, and make a point of mentioning that attendees can sign up for a free, by email only, newsletter. Always include this information in handouts and fliers distributed at the presentations.

4. Set up a free service on your web site. This could be anything from a newsletter to a contest or coupon. Make a point of advertising the fact that you are giving a free service on your web site. Contact journalists and tell them about it. Some newspapers will write an article on a new startup company for their community page. If you have something new or unique to offer, or if the paper has a spot to fill, your contact could result in some free advertising for your business.

5. Place your opt-in form in a prominent place on your web site for easy access. The best form on the web is of no use if no one can find it. The front page is the best spot for it but, at most, it should be no more than one click in, with a direct link to it from the front page. Make sure the form is easy to understand, simple to complete, and contains spaces for all of the information you will need. Be sure to post your privacy policy. One good way to increase your opt-in rates is by offering a free information mail-out or a discount for signing up. Another way is to hold a contest or drawing. Always make sure that whatever you are offering is relevant to your business.

Succeeding in Your Home Based Business

http://www.profitingforward.com

Home based business has many advantages but it also has some pitfalls. In order to succeed in your home based business you need to adopt some strategies to manage these pitfalls and ensure that you have a profitable business as well as a balance in your life.

Let's start by looking at some of the advantages of the home based business.

Firstly you save the travel time that others are wasting going to and from their place of work. For many people this can be a couple of hours each day, which adds up to almost 500 hours per working year.

Secondly you have a much greater degree of flexibility over your time. Most home based businesses give you the freedom to choose when you work and when you don't. If you have a family then you can be enjoying aspects of that family life that many workers completely miss out on.

These, and the many other advantages can make home based business very attractive but there are also some traps that many people fall into that result in their business failing. Let's now look at some of those and what you can do to protect yourself.

Working from home requires a lot more self discipline and organization than working outside of home. It is easy to become distracted by your normal home life and end up wasting a lot of time. This can prove disastrous to your bottom line profits.

At the opposite extreme you can be mentally at work 24 hours per day and totally lose the balance in your life. Many home business owners don't develop the habit of switching off from the work day. They keep thinking of things they should do, and because their office is at home then they do those things. The result on family life is usually less than desirable.

You can use the same strategies to handle both these extremes.

Strategy 1: Establish an area in your home that is your office.

If you establish a distinct workspace at home, preferably a separate room, then you can train yourself to "go to work" and "come home from work" by going to and leaving from that workspace. You have to be strict about this. Never do work outside of the designated workspace and never do non-work activities inside the designated workspace.

If you are strict to this then your brain will start to fall in line with this pattern and you will soon have a clear distinction between when you are working and when you are not.

It is also crucial to train other members of your household to respect this workspace. Always speak in terms of "going to work" and "coming home" so that your family accepts the concept. If you are disturbed by a family matter while you are in the workspace then say "I'm at work now. We'll deal with that when I get home." If you are strict to this yourself then the rest of the family will fall in line with it too.

Strategy 2: Establish definite work hours and stick to them.

Your work hours can be whatever works for you and for your business but they should be definite and published for the rest of the household to see. Treat these hours in the same way that you treat your workspace. Be strict and don't make exceptions. If you do this then you will get into a routine of being work centered during those designated hours and being able to put work out of your mind outside of your designated hours.

Strategy 3: Finish each day with a review of what you accomplished during the day and then write down the six most important tasks to achieve on the following day.

By reviewing the day you keep control over your level of productivity. Don't be critical during this process. Perform it in a calm, business manner, aimed at progressively improving your daily productivity. Ensure that you sort your day's achievements into what is really important for business success and what, although pressing, may not have been the best use of your time.

As soon as you have finished your review you write down the six most important tasks to achieve tomorrow. Then you finish work and put it out of your conscious mind. This review and preplanning process will ensure that your subconscious works on this while you are consciously living your personal life. You will be mentally preparing for the following day without even realizing it.

If you are new to home business, or if your home business is not functioning as you would like it, then adopt these three simple strategies and stick to them diligently. You will notice a huge improvement in both your work productivity and your life balance.

The Difference Between Busy Work and Profit Work

http://www.profitingforward.com

Everyone complains these days about how busy they are, but how productively are they using their time. Anyone who has ever worked in commission sales soon discovers that there are two kinds of work; busy-work and profit-work.

Pareto's Principle says that 80% of our results come from 20% of our efforts. It's been my observation that when it comes to modern work practices Pareto's Principle is optimistic.

Here are 5 questions to ask yourself during your working day.

Question 1: Is what I am doing now the best choice of activity to help me achieve my objectives.

The first step to answering this question well is to know what your objectives are. Most people have not given much thought to what the real objectives of their job are. They are too occupied with the busy-work to ask "what is the bottom line profit reason why I am here?"

The role of every employee, and self employed person, is to enhance the business's ability to make net profit. No matter how far you are from the money making coal face, if you give some thought to your role in helping the business profit then you will be able to determine what is busy-work and what is profit-work.

Question 2: Who can I delegate this to?

The basic business concept of employment is that the employee should be providing the most valuable service possible for the money that they are being paid. If you are spending time doing tasks that someone further down the food chain could be doing then you are not providing the most valuable service for what you are being paid.

Question 3: What would be the consequence of not do what I am doing now?

This is an enlightening question. The human being is a great time waster. They spend too long on phone calls, too much time searching on the internet, too much time at the coffee machine, too much time in idle chatter and so on.

If you regularly mentally ask yourself what the consequence would be if you didn't do what you are doing in this very moment then you would quite often discover that there would be no consequence, because what you are doing is busy-work.

Question 4: Can I put a system in place to make this task faster?

Are there ways to make some, or all, of your regular tasks more efficient? Over your lunch break, or while traveling to or from the office, give some thought to what systems you may be able to put into place that will help you complete tasks faster or more efficiently. A good assumption to work by is that there is always a way to do anything that is ten times better than the current way.

Question 5: If I was hiring and paying a person to do my job would I be happy if they were doing what I am doing now?

What is good use of your time and what is poor use is all a matter of perspective. If you can change the perspective then you can often gain an insight that you hadn't taken notice of before. The best perspective for assessing whether what you are doing is busy work or profit work is to stand in the shoes of an employer and imagine that you are paying someone, out of your own pocket, for the work being done.

You may think that you are under paid but if you had to personally pay that salary then you would probably think that it was a large amount of money. You would also be very keen to get value for the money that you are spending. Your assessment, from that new perspective, is likely to be very profit-work focused.

Final Words

Even the best workers can use their time more efficiently. Most workers could at least double their profitable output. Make a daily habit of asking yourself the above five questions and your will not only increase your profitable output but you will also gain more job satisfaction.

What Choices are you making?

Copyright© Omar Jackson

http://www.profitingforward.com

What choices are you making in your life. You say you want to be financially free but yet you can't even balance your check book. Financial Freedom requires you to financially responsible now, not when you have money but now. Somebody can be in debt but still be financially responsible how you ask because they leverage that debt in to assets that paying off that debt. When you talk to rich people, compared to poor people you can see a totally different train of thought.
These are the things I see rich people do.

>They invest in them selves, weather it be fine tuning their skills, whether it be in sports, education, business etc.
>They invest in multiple areas "after" they have mastered their core competency.
>They never stop learning new ways to grow their wealth
>They never quite
>They leverage other people resources
>They are leaders in their field
>They are go getters ie they don't stand around waiting for things to happen they make things happen.

Those are just some of traits that the wealthy choose to focus their efforts on because they have learned that those are what will increase their wealth.

I'm not wealthy yet but I will get their, so as God is my witness. I will never give up because I choose to be wealthy, I have made a conscious choice every day to grow my wealth be focusing my energy on learning my craft which is Network Marketing.

Have you made your Choice to be Wealthy/Rich or Have you made your choice to be poor.

Leadership

http://www.profitingforward.com

Leadership is the ability and skill to put your plans into action and make your team take part in this whole-heartedly and ecstatically. It is the ability to get other people to do that which they would rather not, without hesitation. Like any other skill, it can also be learned and can be improved with practice.

Leadership is a process involving conversations and interactions that would result in getting other people more complacent with the language of personal responsibility and commitment. In the process, the leader distinguishes and acknowledges his own feelings and those of others in fabricating trusting relationships.

For leadership to occur, leaders must communicate the vision to the followers in such a way that the followers adopt the vision as their own. Leaders must not just see the vision themselves; they must have the ability to get others to see it also. Numerous techniques aid in this process, including: narratives, metaphors, symbolic actions, leading by example, incentives, and penalties.

No matter how one defines leadership, it typically involves an element of vision — except in cases of involuntary leadership and often in cases of traditional leadership. A vision provides direction to the influence process. A leader (or group of leaders) can have one or more visions of the future to aid them to move a group successfully towards this goal.

A vision, for effectiveness, should appear as a simple, yet vibrant, image in the mind of the leader; describe a future state, credible and preferable to the present state; act as a bridge between the current state and a future optimum state; appear desirable enough to energize followers and succeed in speaking to followers at an emotional or spiritual level.

Some commentators link leadership closely with the idea of management; some would even regard the two as synonymous. If one accepts this premise, one can view leadership as centralized or decentralized, broad or focused, decision-oriented or morale-centered, and intrinsic or derived from some authority.

However, a clear distinction between management and leadership is useful. This would allow for a reciprocal relationship between leadership and management, implying that an effective manager should possess leadership skills, and an effective leader should demonstrate management skills.

To some, as a broad generalization, managers concern themselves with tasks while leaders concern themselves with people. This goodwill and support originates in the leader seeing people as people, not as another resource for deployment in support of "the task".

The manager often has the role of organizing resources to get something done. People form one of these resources, and many of the worst managers treat people as just another interchangeable item.

A leader has the role of causing others to follow a path he/she has laid out or a vision he/she has articulated in order to achieve a task. Often, people see the task as subordinate to the vision. For instance, an organization might have the overall task of generating profit, but a good leader may see profit as a by-product that flows from whatever aspect of their vision differentiates their company from the competition.

Leadership does not only manifest itself as purely a business phenomenon. But still, a person can excel in both leadership and management.

As individuals, top-notch leaders/managers should have confidence in their abilities. They should be graceful with who they are, but still feed the yearning to learn and improve. They should be something of an extrovert—enjoy being and working with people. They should be honest and straight forward. And they should never exclude others because of the lack of certain attributes; instead, they should focus on others’ strengths.

As team captains, they should be dependable, but can change their judgments. They should not be afraid to try new things and if they fail, admit the mistake, but need not apologize for having tried. In case of emergencies, they should be able to change plans quickly, but should be responsible for their actions and be ready to face whatever consequences. They should make decisions, but should easily accept input from others.
