Why do we hear, but don't listen!

I think we hear but not listen because we either have
no respect for the person talking,we feel we know
more than the person talking, the topic doesn't
interest you or you are just tired and overwhelmed by
the information.

What ever your reasoning for not truly listening and
learning from a speaker. Is not valid because we all
have something to learn from each other. Because when
we learn to appreciate every conversation we get to
learn peoples thought processes as well as the extent
of their education and knowledge to find out if that
is someone we want to associate our selves with or not.

Because if we don't listen and show each other respect,
even to the lest amongst us, how do you expect anyone to
show you any respect.

You see my father is a perfect example of not listening
and learning for any thing new because he has brained
washed himself to think that he can't learn any thing
new at his age(57). You see my father has the blue collar
mentality that he's not cut out for the book but if he
could just open up his mind he would see how easy it is
after you learn the techniques. And because of that he's
slowly getting left behind in this information age and
loosing out on the ability to create money anytime he chooses
with the new skills and education in internet marketing
(IM). I have tried to teach him basic computer skill.

Are you getting left behind because you have closed of
your ears and mind to listening to the valuable
information.If you have you could be missing out on
earning a whole lot of money and freedom in your life.
